November 28, at the Big Concert Hall of the St. Petersburg State University of Technology and Design will be finals of contest "Student of the Year" in the higher education system of St. Petersburg ".

St. Petersburg can be considered truly student city - on the banks of the Neva has 100 shells of higher education institutions, which has about half a million students. Therefore extremely difficult to evaluate the significance of the victory in the contest "Student of the Year", a victory that will get the best of the best, and that will be one of the most important achievements in the life of the competition.

The competition has created established by the Committee on Science and Higher Education, held in 2008, and became a traditional and prestigious for students and the general public.

The competition has 12 categories:

• «The best in scientific and technological creativity,"
• «The best student in Sports"
• «The best in patriotic work",
• «The best in the organization of international and international cooperation(tolerance)",
• «The best in the organization of student labor groups",
• «The best in the organization of voluntary movement",
• «The best propagandist and organizer of a healthy lifestyle",
• «The best in art",
• «The best organizer software creativity and leisure",
• «The best leader of student government in high school",
• «The best leader of the student government at the hostel",
• «The best curator of the student group".

The competition covers all the state universities of the city. This year, accepted 163 applications for participation in the Competition out of 39 state universities of St. Petersburg, but only 39 of them were in the finals.
Winners will be announced immediately at the ceremony. By tradition, the awards ceremony will be attended by members of the St. Petersburg government, representatives of scientific, educational, business and cultural community of the city.

The solemn ceremony will be held on November 28 (beginning at 16.30) in the Concert Hall of St.Petersburg State Institute of Technology (Technical University)(Bolshaya Morskaya Street, 18).
