Committee on Science and Higher Education and the Council of Rectors of St. Petersburg is holding a contest "Student of the Year" in the higher education system of St. Petersburg

Goal of the competition:
To encourage students of state educational institutions of higher education of St. Petersburg, for their active participation in research, social, artistic and sports-mass work.
The competition had in the following categories:
- the best in scientific and technical creativity;
- the best student in sport;
- the best in the patriotic work;
- the best student in the organization of international and international cooperation (tolerance);
- the best in the organization of student labor groups;
- the best in the organization of the volunteer movement;
- the best promoter and organizer of a healthy lifestyle;
- the best in art;
- the best student of software works and recreation;
- the best director of student government in high school;
- the best organizer of the student government at the hostel;
- the best curator of the student group.
The competition is held among students of the second-fifth year of full-time university education, higher education institutions submitted to the competition. Each university may submit the bid is not more than one student in each category. Applications are universities from October 5 to October 26, 2011.
The ceremony of summarizing the competition will be held in the Concert Hall of St. Petersburg State University of Technology and Design November 16, 2011 at 16:00. Bidders will be invited to the ceremony.
The contest winners at the ceremony given diplomas and prizes - bronze statues of "the wise owl" on the base of natural stone in the form of an owl in a tetrahedral academic cap with a tassel.
